first connect the first and play it then disconnect it and connect the other one, then play it. If you do that life you have to be very quick also..

hmmm... And the classic way of doing it? Daisychain them with the midi-thru of one of them, put them on a different channel (althought that's not even necessary), and for ur programme it's like there's only one keyboard while u are in fact using 2... |

and asignate them to dif midi channels to play and modulate independently?

yes. If u use the thru of one of the keyboards it will send the data sent by the other one through unchanged. If u put the first on channel 1 and the second on channel 2, they will only send data on the channels u selected, and for the pc it will be as if there is only one. |

you should have no problems as long as the (USB) keyboards are powered ON before booting LIVE... then on the MIDI dialog activate both inputs and ye'r done.
About daisy chaining ... it also worx for me and has advantages: You can have the "slave" keyboard even unplugged then plug the MIDI cable when you need it: As it is not an USB interface you do not need to reboot LIVE. The obvious disadvantage is, it shares MIDI interface, but with 16 channels I think it's not an issue other than maybe you have to filter program change so as to affect only one VSTi
hope it helps!

Dumb question...
Lets say I have 2 oxygen 8s and I want to use one to trigger all my drum loops and synth loops, but use the other to play vsts on the fly... Can I plug each one into a usb port on my laptop and it will recognise each keyboard seperately? Or what do I have to do to make this work?
I think that you guys had previously answered my question... I just need to try it out... An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

You can very well do that, then every Oxygen will be a separate MIDI input for your VSTi's, or you can daisy-chain one to another, in this case sharing MIDI interface.
But even sharing the interface you can do what you intend, you have 16 channels per interface, you can assign one channel for the drum loops and 5 other channels for 5 different VSTi's ... |
