It is definitely ridiculous in this country. In travel, I loved the scene of drunk high-school children at the train stops. (I teach high school.) They learn to be responsible with their consumption at a much earlier age than kids in the US. |

Well this is a good point you raise, Lady seals.
The 21 age restriction lends itself to more "Crime" in the country. I know that we started drinking illegally around 15 here in SA. I seriously doubt its much different the US. That leaves 6 years of being illegal and irresponsible, as opposed to three here in SA. Which equates to far higher crime stats (not to mention the extra work for the police)
Furthermore, removing a ban/law on something often decreases its usage figures.
