Unbelievable! is this true or a "mix". writing from Japan and thought I'd check out the latest on the scene.. surely Upstairs is not closed... one of the things i am looking forward to on my return to SA!

mmm.

Does not look like they will be opening anywhere again soon.

The guy who owned Upstairs is busy with his Sound Company and Sway organises parties at differant venues.

So...yeah.....spirit is still there.....but Upstairs is GONE!

Organafix has a large venue that gets used weekly or more of parties....

The Upstairs crew will be throwing parties there regulary.

A liddle birdie in the sky told me that...new club Crimson (previously Mink , under new owners with new name) will quite possibly be having a psy night, true underground style......

None left Colin....

The Fix.....is Organafix....in Studio 47.

Afro Cafe....no more....

Upstairs no more....

Only Opium....doing the Labrynth Trance evening on a Thursday.

And Shizzle in Stellenbosch doing a trance evening on Thursdays.

And then the Organifix evenings....mostly the venue rented out to organisers....

thats IT!

Upstairs was great! no doubt...

But the Fix (aka organafix (aaka Studio 47)) is also coming along nicely.

It usually attracts quite a nice crowd of happy go lucky sort of unpretentious peoples. Most of them seem to spend most of thier time on the dancefloor and seem quite content. Theres lots and lots of space and the drinks are cheap but the attendance is not that high at the moment. Anyways, i predict its gonna be the venue for a few good parties this winter.

As for Opium/Labirynth, its nice but a very different vibe. very greenpoint. lots of access control... very cool etc.
