I am looking to upgrade my computer to go faster, want to spend around £50 to £100.
Wanted peoples thoughts on what would make performance speed better, more RAM or processor upgrade?
I currently have an ACER ACPIRE M5100, Amd phenom 9500 Quad Core processor 2.20 Ghz, 2GB RAM.
Any suggestions people? was thinking of just upping the RAM to 3GB, would this make much difference? (by the way i am running on Vista)
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks |

On a 32bit system the maximum amount of ram a single process can use is about 1.5gb i believe. But that doesnt mean other processes can use the remaining, i got 4gb on a 32bit system but can only use around 3.5gb of that overall.

I really want to change to XP, but i have so many vsts/effects installed, and dont have the original installation files anymore. Is there any way of switching to XP without loosing these and having to install them all again?? |
