Why not upgrade the forum?
I'm no html expert, but I've seen quite a lot of forums and many (most) feel a lot more "modern". With options which ppl today take for granted such as avatars, BBC code sigs with images, quick search, unanswered topic search....
No pun intended, and I'd understand if your server can't handle this. But if that's not the case, I really see no reason not to upgrade. |

Well yes. Again, I'm no expert but if it's not too hard to do, it might be a good idea. Love the forum, but the interface does fell a bit "old school"  |

All your suggestions were thought of when we've created this forum. We chose not to have them for several reasons - we focus on the content, not the packaging and flashy effects; we had (and still have) many users with a slow internet connection; we like to keep things nice and simple.
Please REMOVE my cellphone number from any SMS spam list you may have. Thanks.

no .. this is nice and very user friendly , other forums while prettier are a pain to navigate thru .. keep it minimal here please

This is a very good interface - fast, usable, simple!

I think its a good thing to keep it minimal.
Still some functions could be here, and it all would be minimal.
For example the possibility to search through all forums, not just one.
Or to (optionally for slow iconnectors) have links to images being showed as an image inside the post.
Hyperlinks in signatures
Small file attachements (up to 5kb) for the equipment and musiccreation forum, so that people can exchange presets more easily. (I don't know from your webserver, but with such small files it takes really long till it needs seriously space.) I have 20GB for 10Euro a month http://www.cyon.ch, 99.9% up, sql addon domains etc. as much as I want. I you don't have that ressources for such a small price you might consider changing the provider.
Possibility to delete own posts, when its the last in a topic.
Unlimited post-edit time. edited posts are marked with date inside the post.
