Hello!

Today I have a pair of Krk rokit 5 and im starting to feel that the bass is a little to weak for me to work with.

Anyone got any tips of something good to do?

Upgrade to new monitors? What brand/model?
Or something else?

Thanks!

i have the rokit 5s and some yamaha hs80ms and i swear everytime i use the 5s, i want to chuck em in the trash.

i got them for 50 bucks, so that's why i have them. i wouldn't use them for audio work beyond listening.

save your money and get some dynaudio b5ma acoustics.

Short answer: You could always get more bass with the subwoofer that fits your Rokits ( http://www.krksys.com/krk-subwoofers/10s.html )

Longer blablabla:
Monitors are a very subjective thing, i think... Some of the most known and sought after monitors is the ones that sounds the worst Like the the legendary Yamaha NS10 - It's said that if your mix sounds good on these puppies, it will sound good _anywhere_.

Yamaha NS10 reference: http://www.cdmasteringservices.com/ns10nearfieldmonitors.htm

The article also states another important fact: The monitors has a lot of parameters to struggle with besides themselves the room in which they stand, your other equipment, the genre, the producer's taste and other subjective matters, which will most likely change from one person to another.

I must admit that i use Rokit5 too, and they suit me very well. i love their sound, i know them well, and therefore i can easily work with them. If i was given a pair of high end monitors, i'd probably struggle for a while until i had gotten to know them, how the sound translates to other systems and so on, but from there on i could very well fall in love with them too

I know people doing very impressive mixes on very crappy equipment. They can do this because they know their equipment very well.

So, from my point of view, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the monitor debate Kinda like EQ'ing.. Maybe you like your Rokits, or maybe you'd like an expensive high end monitor instead. The best thing you can do is to go to your local gear-dealer with some tracks you know well, and A/B listen to them in their showroom

Go by heart and ear, not by what you read Do some mixes, and listen to them on different speakers to really get to know your monitors. In the end it's what counts - audio

I've seen tons of AWESOME producer 'in the studio' videos with the krk rokits. I've used KRK in the past, and I definitely didn't hate them. Just like anything else, it's about getting used to your set up, and how your mixes sound on other systems after you mixdown with your studio monitors.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

I own KRK8's and love them... don't know about the 5" tho. They are very good for their price.

I say if you are buying something new, better save and buy something good, dynaudio for example

Ok, thanks for the opinions

I don't wanna go to high in price range maybe I should have added.

Im pretty happy with the way my krk5 sounds, its just the bass that's a little weak(maybe because I havent tried any other monitors yet, dunno.. )

I'll look in to krk8 maybe, they don't seem to expensive
