hello guys ,
currently i have the Behringer Truths B2031 Active 2 way monitors and now i want to upgrade my monitors ....
so i have 2 choices :-
1. Dynaudio BM5A - cost me 1400 USD
2. Mackie Hr 824 - cost me 2550 USD
according to the price , dynaudio is more choice , but i need to know are they same in quality as the HR 824 ?? or superior ...
please post , whatever u knw or heard about these 2 specific monitor models .. it will help me make the right decision ..
thank you ,
respect .. chandan ! |

Well... I have the Dynaudio´s one and I can´t complain about them.
I heard the Mackie 624 to compare, and I prefer the BM5A... Don´t know about the 824, but seems to be different options....
Actually that´s what I´ve seen here when there´re threads about montors... Ppl asking infos about too diferent monitors(specailly prices).
Better than asking here, is going to the store and take a listen...

you should compare the BM6A and the HR824 if you have enought money, you can do great mix on both( maybe hr824 are for bigger studio). |

Exactly.
My advice. If u have money, buy the Dynaudio BM6A(if u really have money buy the Air series).
If u want to buy something else with your budget, I would go for the BM5A. I listened to the Hr 624, and I prefer Dynaudio´s sounds. Mackie´s ones has more thin sound, very acurrated. Dynaudio´s has more "punch".

Wow, you can get the Mackies for $1200 US for the pair. I'm sure that the shuipping is not $1350 US. |

Wavelogix: It depends on import taxes to India really.
I havn't heard the smaller Dynaudio speakers so I can't judge them but I don't really like the Mackie HR824. I find the bass to be a bit too loose, the mid-range gets a bit too compressed at high volume and the high-end a bit too present.
Just personal opinion of course ...

I love the HR824s. Several of my friends have bought them after listening to mine.

Wavelogix: You could try and contact www.thomann.de to see if they ship to India. They have good prices and good service all-round.
