Can't find any related topics although i'm sure there will be one (someone point me to it please if there is) so here goes:
Just wondering how make that up down pattern that is used all over psy. The kinda effect you get from using vanguards trancegate. A perfect example is Cosmosis- Stormy Monday. It's the saw lead that sounds gated and goes uuuuupppppp and dowwwwwnnnnn over 16/ 32 bars or so. I'm just wondering how you program these pattern, i can make the basic noise but every attempt at these sorts of patterns sound horrible.
Do you use some sort of trancegate or do you program the midi notes and gaps yourself? If the latter do you know of any midi files i can download to have a look at? Really having some trouble understanding it.

more often than not the gating is a separate process than the sound rising and falling. Try attaching an LFO to control oscillator pitch and use either a trance gate or a midi gate to do the chopping effect. I tend to use either Camel Space or the Destroy FX Midi Gater for such things.

with the destroy fx midi gater what would you do, automate the floor fader?
