I have a weak computer (56mb RAM), I want to update it to 256mb RAM. The question is, will it solve my problems with music creation, or I need to update more things?

What's your CPU and HD speed?

the question is what CPU/harddisk/motherboard you have.
if they're all very old - maybe to add RAM won't help much
but i hope for you it will!
if you post your computer's details, it will be much easier to say if it helps or not

I know the speed is 500mhz, I dont know about the hard drive(can I update hard drive?), and the motherboard is 2 years old. If you know what I need to do in order to be able to work on music please tell me.

If your MB is 2 years old then it's probably ATA-66. You can work with music, but you will have some difficulties. But the main thing you need to do now is to upgrade your RAM - this is the main drawback for you right now.

it is ata66,
so don't try to record many audio channels at once
(i'm sure you can't anyway)
and RAM will help you, do it :)

For good music creation I recomend you (minimal):
* P3-450MHZ (or more)
* 256MB RAM (or more)
* S.card pro (recomended) or SBLive! (256Bit)
* Good arranged computer (too many unwanted software will overload the memory)

why don't you simply tell us what H/W setup you have -
which motherboard,HD,Audio interface ?(*)

Bomski :)

P.S.
if you want a detailed answer, you have to ask detailed question.
like:
i have x,y,z,w what should i upgrade in order to increase a,b,c,d
we all would like to help, but if you hide details ... we'll be only able to blabla generally.

(*) it is discovered simply: take a screwdriver, and see with yer' eyes - anyway nobody will give you a guarantee for more than 1 year, so you don't have a guarantee for the PC, maybe for some part or other.
