So this was about TBA and TBC announcements?

No, it is not! No matter what that kind of writing can be great cover for a fake show announcement.
Long story short, any announcement without a completed "description" part in "upcoming show" section on myspace, is a potential fake announcement and we all know that no matter of whole this conversation. Information about booking without any of promoters links with official annoucement are frivolous. Who's understand great, and who's not will understand by the time.
Thank you all for your time. |

By the way. Is twitter something in use for psytrance?

I think I can lay claim to the title of "most active psytrance entity on Twitter" but I remain sceptical of its utility for this scene. It's a matter of audience size--and while many different fields of human activity attract an enormous number of sharp individuals keen to interact and co-create, psytrance culture does not. This may change but for now--Twitter is purely optional.

I use twitter pretty often and I like it, but I make websites for a living so it's not a big issue for me to implement it properly and use it in a much bigger way than most people could...I think you really need to have a proper website that you can promote with it
myspace is a tool just like all the other social websites and just like a tool it can be used in many ways...I personally opened a myspace account just to see how much I could change (dismantle) the original design (and it was fun ) but the fact that it gives people that don't know anything about design the ability to become designers is something that did more bad than good. so in a way I agree with Basilisk that there are many things which prevent you from using it properly..I personally can't stand all the flash widgets and animated backgrounds and it's definitely not the first place I would go to to check out some new music...
fortunately there are other services out there which can do a much better job for artists...for example soundcloud and last.fm ...I've found more music that I loved on last.fm in one week than I did on myspace in a year

Seen from a marketing point of view MySpace is great and very useful. So is Facebook, Twitter etc. But using those does not rule out a website.
Everything counts in today’s promotion jungle. Those who only use a website or only use MySpace lose valuable promotion opportunities.

I found out in one single evening or in the first session that many music through myspace - that I don't have any slightest doubt to look anywhere else.
Most musicians on other sides have a myspace anyway - and mostly these are those who have anywhere one.
When talking about fresh new artists you won't find an end when looking for new on space.
And I doubt it seriously that you will find in another place in the whole web more music than there
Also there is absolutely no need to install any of that widgets you told.I also do not like them - just dont install them or delete that part of that script.
I found sounds there that will stay till death do us part and of any genre.

After reading Dovla's post, I redid my Myspace to something more minimalistic and easier to navigate.
Still sorting out the blog "sections" though, haha.

It's funny to see that post here again after so much time. Two years later, I couldn't resist to do a quick search to see what happened since then...
Two years ago Ace Ventura wrote: "alot of ppl out there who claim myspace is going down big time - are simply idiots who dont know the facts, pardon my french"
And others were +1 ing it and defended myspace.
Look where we are today.

In oct. 2009 Myspace had already had its good days.

good riddance
I for one welcome our new Soundcloud overlords
seriously though..with all the new features facebook has been implementing in the last few years and with the stuff that's on the way...there's really no point to use anything else now
