Steven King's The Mist. Directed by Frank Darabont.
http://www.apple.com/trailers/weinstein/themist/hd/

Three-time Oscar-nominee Frank Darabont (“The Green Mile,” “The Shawshank Redemption”) reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author’s original short story. Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the ‘The Arrowhead Project’ conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group’s overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see!

City of Men

In CITY OF MEN, producer Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardner) returns to the Brazilian favelas of his Academy Award-nominated film, City of God. Growing up in a culture dictated by violence and run by street gangs, teenagers Acerola (Douglas Silva) and Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha) have become close as brothers. With their eighteenth birthdays fast approaching, Laranjinha sets out to find the father he never met, while Acerola struggles to raise his own young son. But when they suddenly find themselves on opposite sides of a gang war, the lifelong friends are forced to confront a shocking secret from their shared past.

Control

Ian Curtis has aspirations beyond the trappings of small town life in 1970’s England. Wanting to emulate his musical heroes, such as David Bowie and Iggy Pop, he joins a band, and his musical ambition begins to thrive. Soon though, the everyday fears and emotions, that fuel his music, slowly begin to eat away at him. Married young, with a daughter, he is distracted from his family commitments by a new love and the growing expectations of his band, Joy Division. The strain manifests itself in his health. With epilepsy adding to his guilt and depression, desperation takes hold. Surrendering to the weight on his shoulders, Ian’s tortured soul consumes him.

I'm not there

I’m Not There is an unconventional journey into the life and times of Bob Dylan. Six actors portray Dylan as a series of shifting personae — from the public to the private to the fantastical — weaving together a rich and colorful portrait of this ever-elusive American icon.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

This looks awesome:

No Country For Old Men - directed by the Coen brothers.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/nocountryforoldmen/

Based on the acclaimed novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Cormac McCarthy. The time is our own, when rustlers have given way to drug- runners and small towns have become free-fire zones. The story begins when Llewelyn Moss (BROLIN) finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law - in the person of aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell (JONES) - can contain. As Moss tries to evade his pursuers - in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives (BARDEM) - the film simultaneously strips down the American crime drama and broadens its concerns to encompass themes as ancient as the Bible and as bloodily contemporary as this morning’s headlines.

This one seems like it has a 50/50 chance of being either total garbage or really cool.

watched no country for old men last week. Will have to say its one of the beeest movies I have watched recently. Highly intense and keeps you at edge of your seat. quite violent. A very good storyline. It is definetly recommended. Its the Coen brothers, you can never go wrong with those freaks.

Heard a lot of good things bout the bob dylan movie, may see it this week.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Just watched “No Country For Old Men” this weekend, too…wow. That’s definitely the best movie of 2007. Super heavy, super gritty, just all around brilliant.

I heard “The Mist” sucks ass, by the way.
