To buy this is $35AU.
For that price I can buy 3 digital releases off beatport that will have 40+ tracks or 3 CDs from psyshop or saikosounds inc. postage.
Seriously? And no cheaper option to buy an mp3 only version?
What a joke! I was so excited for this release but the price is absolutely ridiculous!!

Oz Mike, then why dont you cancel your purchase & go ahead to start buying all those releases which u mentioned instead of writing that you seem to be making a price comparison and some financial forecast or what ! ?  hehe, moreover, i think you know well,or you should have realized, that the quality both technically and conceptually plus overall level of production found on those cds by far exceeds even the bravest and most innovative artists,labels and genres.... well, for me the price is also high, but sure i dont come here to complain or to make price comparisons ... u cant really find anything on the scene thats even getting DAT cloose to the level of this music technically and conceptually, probably Blueprints is the only CD/VA that brings it closer ..that music really has literally raised the sound bar and barrier;) conceptually levels above ...SERIOUSLY, if you undertood this well, you would have picked your words and arguments up more carefully, or actually would have left arguing behind  Support for the revolution of Music!

the price is 26.5 € to the rest of the world on psymarket
20 cd (double cd)+
6.5 shipping
plus you dont have to wait for the cd you get downloads in the meantime
do the math saiko has discounts this month
you get one cd + express delivery (2-3 days) for 24 € aproximately
you still think 26 € is ridiculously expensive ? |

Double CDs at saikosounds or psyshop go for far below that price.
And if you buy direct from the labels you often get the downloads.
I paid far less to get Etnica - Live In Athens 1996 direct from DAT, and got the WAVs sent as well.
It's my opinion mate, you have yours. That's cool
BTW why not have digital purchase for $15US? That's high even for beatport, but I'd pay that happily. I paid $10US each recently for a bunch 45 track releases online.

OzMike, are you aware that hardly any trance labels print more than 500 CDs these days? That means average sales of a release must be less than 500 CDs.
Do you know what it costs to produce and distribute the physical CDs? How about to PROPERLY compensate the audio and visual creatives/engineers (mastering) who make the art that we appreciate? They invest significant time and money (equipment) to bring you these sounds.
It should be fairly obvious that anyone and everyone involved on the production side - of music, art, and CD label - is doing it for love and not for money. |
