I went the last 2 festivals, even when it was not in Bahia... It was good when we had only good music and nice people around... Now you look, there are only people drugging themselves like crazy, thinking thats the best thing to do, instead of really enjoying the UP...
I was ironic telling you to go to Rio, but anyway, you can do whatever you want... You`ll probably like the festival ghost, you must be one of the new members of UP...
I really liked it before, maybe I`m getting older, but I must say today is much more commercial than anything else. I preffer to get to know other places with no junkies. |

Is funny you say this because I was speaking to someone in salvador who has been to UP couple of times about info and he refer to psy as E music ha ha lol.
I think from looking at the vidoes of brizlian parties I know what to expect and you cant really worry what everyone does but I think UP is a bit different where is many people from all over the world also come for the right reason, I want experience UP once to see how it goes and make the best. But most festival are like this now where many people just go to blow their brains out, so what can you do! You dont have to make friends with all the people in the party it takes only one person to make a connection with. |

Whatist Rance: Well i`ve got to say, up8 and 9 were fine, altough i have to addmit i`m far more a fan of trancendence. I`m getting old also but it doesn`t mean i`m going to stop supporting the UP Crew.
If you don`t like the junkies just move to a different part of the festival simple as that |

Anything depends on you. 
I myself only feel bad about the 2 editions I missed (06/07 and 07/08). I had everything settled, tickets, flights, accommodation.
But the job made me pass it on.
Now-a-days, I'd rather spend my money in another place, such as Whatist Rance described. Rio, The South, or even Bahia.
Brazil has a hole hoard of places, beautiful places to visit.
And the money you'd spend there (UP), you can easily go to anywhere in Brazil, and be treated like a king
Not to mention, the Festival "Hype" in Brazil is long gone, imHo. |

this year will be my third year at UP ... and i'm only going because they will change the location of the festival ... not because i didn't like it (mind you i had a blast) but because i like to try different places and festivals ... but still ... it's a good festival with lots of foreign people that gives a nice environment to the place and the scenario is great ... 'cause to be honest the psy scene in brasil is called (by my mates and me) the botox trance because its quite elitist which doesn't connect very much with the whole trance ideals imo ...

its like every year. complain complainin complainin and even then its always there , it seems u guys are wastin too much time doin stuffs u guys think its mediocre... like going to universo paralello.
indeed go to rio or south or even bahia and people like urself wont make no difference around there...
maybe we are going to have LESS people THINKIN and more people ENJOYIN the `trip`....
too much thinkin ...

And I'm not bashing the Festival, I'm just pointing out my opinion about money that is spent there.
Try having another peep at my post.
All I said is that I RATHER GO TO ANOTHER PLACE. It's personal. So why does it bother you that much? You don't think I'm entitled to feel that way?
Dude, it's a matter of taste.
I'd still catch a Trancendence, if I can.
I don't fancy the idea of spending New Year's Eve, in a beach with 7k strangers.
I rather be just with my family/friends... in a different place...
Back than, I'd love to attend it. Cause it was something different. Now, it's basically a 7 days party...

Okay guys lets get back on track then!!!!
So we are getting halfway thru november, no sign of the alternative stage line-up, which is unfortunate.
But i`ll tell you one thing, my friend went up some weeks back and said the venue is very nice and stuff is real close by to one another. I asked him if he would post up the photos to the general public but he wasn`t allowed to. Great river!!! |
