Hi mates,

I had some problem with my computer and needed to reinstall the drivers to Yamaha 01X, but what a painfull thing to do.

I´ve searched on the net and found this link:

http://www.01xray.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=7&Board=01X_Windows&Number=219802&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

with this argumentation:

"Here is the (in)famous "Fukuri Method" for removing the drivers manually (as augmented by other users). Some of the information may be different for your system and mLAN versions, but you should be able to get it to work

NOTE: This technique requires some knowledge of editing your Windows Registry. Please back up your current registry settings before attempting any edits.

- First do a normal uninstall in windows.

- Go to windowssystem32drivers and delete

mLanPDev.sys
mLanMIDI.sys
mLanBus.sys

- Remove the "C:Program FilesmLAN Tools" directory

- Open RegEdit and delete this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREYAMAHAmLANTools

- And this one:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionuninstall{758A83CD-F0F3-4B79-BF45-9723354E398D}

- The GUID might be different so look around for the one that has this value in it

"mLAN Applications for YAMAHA"

If you don't have other Yamaha equipment installed on your system you probably could remove every key with the word "Yamaha" or "mLAN" in it, but be careful! If your register is [censored] up, it will effect your system (i.e. it won't work anymore!).

- Reboot and reinstall "

After that I found the second tip:

"Here's a way to clean out the device manager of Yamaha drivers not being used. Make sure your device is NOT plugged into the computer while performing this procedure.

1. Go to START/RUN, and type in CMD
2. in the new window type: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1, then enter
3. now type: start devmgmt.msc, enter again.

Device manager will launch. At the top of DM, click on VIEW and click on SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES.

Now go to sound, video, and game controllers. Remove all the greyed out (seen but not being used) Yamaha usb driver info. You can also remove any other devices you don't use from the other lists.

Exit when finished, and reboot at least twice. Now you will be clean of any old drivers and can intall fresh!

Hope this helps"

I did all the steps but on "add remove softwares" the soft "Install mLan.." is still there and I can´t uninstall when I press it.
I think some file is still in my computer.
I searched in "regedit" for all "mLan" and "Yamaha" files and deleted then, but I guess I cannot clear all the files or something like that.
Someone have some tips to how to completely uninstall the mLan driver from my computer?

I´m running a PC Pentium 4, 2,4, 512 Ram, Windows XP SP2.

Tnx in advance

Roge
