Understanding LFOs

Most of the soft synths I work with have LFOs that you can manipulate. Their rate is measured in hz I believe, and of course the more you turn it up, the faster the lfos work. My question is how can you gauge the lfo freqency to affect your sound the way you want it to. Let's say that I wanted the lfo effect to be 16th notes or something like that and it doesn't have a sync like the Albino, how can I determine what numerical value I should enter to avoid spending days knob twiddling?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Hz=cycles per second
So, we have beats per minute
What we need the beats per second
bps=bpm/60
Now there you have of course also cyles per second.
If you now need the hz to go on the 16ths you only need to multiply by 16.

So basically hz = (bpm * note value)/60           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

@CHP
Sure, it just takes more time and effort and wont give you a better result.

@sy000321
No...there is 60 seconds in a minute.
Hence bps=bpm/60

Ok... one more question... What is the formula if you want the lfo change to occur over lets say, 4 bars?? Would you divide by the amount of notes in 4 bars?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Yeah thats it.

4*4=16
Basically hz=(bpm/16)/60
