man to start i wouldn t advice to use a paramatric eq like sonnox, q10,pro Q and all this ,Why? cause with these eq you have way more choice to make your sound bad than making it better when not experienced.
try eq like api 550B and A , with these you just turn the knobs till it sound good and move on,that why ppl love the hardware ones (and they do sound fucking good too).. or ssl channel, pultec plugs ... they just have the interface that is close to their hardware cousin but it s a part of their workflow, and it s matter a lot with eq. different interface can make you eq differenrlty. you could try graphique eqs too.
eq that dont impose you any limitation are the more dangerous, these are very usefull and great but what you see with hardware, is a eq great for bass, one for voice, one for snare..you dont want thousands of options on eq, ideally you just want the right options for the sound equed so it s easy and fast to get great result

hey mate, read the d'n'b article Sunrise Travellers posted earlier, if you didn't allready, if you did, read it once more, and once more again - its really helpfull, and more your read it the more you get the grip of the whole thing - the whole concept is very well put down there imho.

Im Trying To Learn The characteristics Of The Eq And What Is This Side in The Spectrum of The Eq called (Like Lows And Highs ,high pass filter, ..etc)
this is your spectrum
20 Hz|Lows---Low Mid---HighMid---High|20kHz
you shouldn't bother about stuff below 20hz - its inaudible and produces only rumble - cut it. stuff above +/- 20kHz is also inaudible for human ear.
high pass/low cut, low pass/high cut filters is no magic, they do, what their name states they do - pass or the other way around cut low or high frequencies that's all
edit
high pass/low cut filter or eq graph roughly put would look like
i find drawing ascii graphs quite difficult here so for low pass/high cut filter or eq
just flip the graph in your mind leaving 20hz and 20 khz values untouched.

in fact it s personal , try some eq and see the one you likes..but on some eq you go from poin A to point B very fast cause of their frequency choise, Q curves and all this.. for example one a api eq or a emulation you can try different curves in a matter of seconds and just go with what is best.. while on a eq that dont ahve any limitation you may never end to a as good sounding curve even after 15 minutes tweaking, it all depends the situation..
i have the ultimate graph here for words/sound and frequency relation, all credits to the guy who made it ,apologize i don t remember who it is . a fellow gearstlut ..this one is only one that is totally true i have find, or how i hear it too..

np man...
check this out the best tutorial on youtube about Eq-ing..Its not for trance but is very helpfull..
and some books...
The art of Mixing David Gibson
But I think if U are new in production try too learn synthesis first..this is the best thing to learn first...
When U understand how to program your synth and U can build sound u like then U can stuck with Dinamic procesors(Compresor, limiter, noise gate,EQ...)its very important to know what every component does..
After that U can go on Efects(Reverb,delay,flanger,phaser...)
The art of mixing by david gibsson is great book and covers everything about that...but first syntesis...
