Hi Guys, Im New To Psychedelic Music Production And I Have A Thing That Is Killing Me To Learn About Which Is Eq'ing , So ...
I Wanna Know If Anybody Here Can Help To Understand Eq'ing , I Know The Conept ! And I Read The Articles About eq'ing But Here's What I Dont Understand ...
Like When i Read In a Post Or A Topic Someone Say : cut the low's of frequencies or high's , Or Something Like Cut Around 40 hz or 200 hz or whatever the amount is ...for Basslines And Kicks And Leads .... I Know Some Say Eq'ing And Cuts is To Give Headroom For Ur Track But I Wanna Know How To Cut The Low's Or etc ... i wanna Know Where Is The area For Lows and highs Or This Mid low , high .
bottom line i wanna know how to eq anything ! and i know some people may say use ur ears for god sake !!! and they are right but i wanna know what im cutting , what im adding or boosting , and why did i cut that amount of frequencies , and to learn about the curves of the eq , and like what this area on the eq screen called . Sorry For My Stupid Questions I Know Some Words I Said Doesnt Even Make Sense But Again Im Still New To This , and btw i dont mean for anybody here to explaing it to me like writting it on three page or whatever If Someone Can Direct Me To Some Useful Links , Sites , Videos . Although It Would Be Nice If Someone If Someone Can Explain It haha
and sorry if its wrong To Make It As A New Topic But I Didnt Know In What Section To Post This
Have A Great Weekend Everyone , Peace

twist the eq bands in all direction on various sounds, from drums to synths..till you get a idea of how a cut or a boost on a specific range gonna affect sounds.
more realistcly just mix and with time it will come naturally.

you could make a decent mix with just a high pass filter on each tracks and sometimes not even needed but you need good source too..concentrate on the source first the less a sound need eq the best it is, as it flip the phase, introduce delay ,affect the transients and all this.. pro enginners try to avoid using eq as much as possible with right choice of mics, good placement, using right pres and more .. it s a bit like compression, when these tools are used to fix, you better have a sound that dont need any fix to start with if possible, it may mean investing money in stuff that produce high quality source and all this, it s where imo really great production as it roots after the room and monitoring..

Nice Advice Mate And Thats What I Usually Do But Still Dont Have An Idea About What im Doing u know ... but as u said When i Mess With The knobs And Stuff I Can Notice The Difference And Thats Great But How Am I Suppose To Know What Im Cutting ! How Can i Put This .... Im Trying To Learn The characteristics Of The Eq And What Is This Side in The Spectrum of The Eq called (Like Lows And Highs ,high pass filter, ..etc) I Guess Its Just A Long Learning Process ...
