we just had Ghreg on Earth and the Fractal Cowboys here in texas and they rocked us hard, i'll be there!!!

okeee...
very interesting party.. very.
one of the most tripped-out locations i've been to (not just throwing words around, here) - huge open mesa outsite of Taos with lots of rugged people who live off the land.. sage and cactus be it there. crazy hippies, mad respect to them, but get off pork and beans, fer your own sake.
anyway, got there around 11 on Friday after getting lost a few times (bad directions!), pumping trippy dark psy courtesy of Mark from Austin, TX.. BuddhaBomb and Kriya played for a bit, I jumped on somewhat discombobulated from the long drive, played some newer stuff like Boldly Audio and Alien FM, everything seemed groovy enough and most people were getting down to it like nothing else. Seeming that I was expecting bunch of dnb raver kids, this gave me hope. Psylens played some of his own breaks versions of psy tracks and generally groovy full-on stuff, then Elf Arrow threw down hard and minimal, then I was asleep..
wake up at fucking 100 degree New Mexico desert, goddamn.. but the day passed pleasantly enough - most "party kids" were home, the only people at the ranch seemed to be the locals and out of state trippers like us. solomoon and mukti played some nice daytime goa scorchers as the crew was preparing for the night.
after some technical difficulties in the beginning, Frequency Deluxe went on around 11, played a DJ set with some high-energy full-on, and a bunch of oldie hits like GMS - Juice, etc.. I wasn't in the mood for it, but a lot of the party kids seemed to like it, so all the power to them.
around 2 or 2:30 Dylalien from Fractal Cowboys went on, playing a DJ set of mostly original material.. and OMFG.  one of the most psychedelic and original sets I have ever experienced, in any genre. Simply mindblowing. Very artisting, colorful, esoteric music. At times it was transgressing the boundaries of psytrance into unknown territories - I am not going to label them, it was all great. I think everybody's brain pretty much exploded right there, the ashes settling in intricate new patterns. Everybody was just there, listening, dancing, going totally crazy, for the whole 2 or 3 hours he played. Don't think anybody left even to take a piss..  Amazing. Nothing I heard on compilations compares to this, and I want to hear more...!! when is the album coming???
Ghreg on Earth went next, and played some beautiful hard, dark, almost, but not quite melodic tunes. Very dark, soul-searching stuff, lots of texture in his sound, and a rough edge that cuts in and doesn't go away. Earlier in the night it would've been perfect, imo - but I like fluffy sunrises. hehe.. nevertheless, the music was truly impressive. His new album should be excellent - I think it's coming very soon, can't wait!
anyway, at this point, I had to go sleep, things to do in the morning, etc etc etc.. heard that Dylalien played another morning set after Ghreg - such a bummer that I missed it. 
but till next time. maybe Burning Man?

Yah, this was definitely one of the best parties I've been to in a while. The venue was really beautiful - it felt like I was on the roof of the world up there. I've got mad respect for all those crazy hippies that live out in the desert. They're a bunch of really good folks, and I'm really thankful they invited us out there to join them.
As for the music... OMFG! Ghreg and the Cowboys rocked it for us down here in Texas a couple of weeks ago, but they really pulled out all the stops last Saturday. Dylan and Quasar rocked it hard, and I really dug Quasar's sunrise set. Ghreg was mind-blowing. Strange things seem to happen whenever he plays - out at Dark Forest, he gave a chick a spontaneous orgasm during his set, and this time we had several people spot a UFO.
I talked with the aliens for a bit - they came all the way to Earth to dance their asses off with the rest of us. Apparently, they'd keyed in on the signal from the Hyperdrive Accelerator and followed the beam halfway across the galaxy. Anyway, I thought I'd come a long way driving up from Texas but those guys were really extreme. 4000 light-years in a cramped spaceship beats 12 hours in a car any day! |

and in NY the dancefloor caught fire when ghreg was playing... there is some serious stuff going on within his music
really wish i could have gone to this event. it sounds like it was a great one

well said, dimitry and zymote.
this party totally rocked my world and gave me a whole new perspective and understanding of dark trance.
The fire workers kept strong flame burning throughout the night.
The sound people had their system cranked up like I've never heard it before.
The musicians all kept it uber-real, super dark and very presence.
The aliens became visible to the believers.
our little "gods from outerspace" workshop turned out to be an open channel for information flow from the stars.
The people kept the energy galaxy-high dancing throughout the nights to some of the more blasting sets I've ever experienced. Especially the dosage of madness quasar gave us in the morning; it was unbelievable to see him step up to perform a morning set. and surely, it only got morning about an hour into it.
too much fun
we are trying to do summer-ending festival in Colorado at the end of September, hope to see the newmexico crew and the California artists- present.

Can't wait to hear the last track on the album, the sad one that sounds like war, again!
