Countless veterans seem to lose it as the years unfold, but few experienced artists manage to reinvent themselves in fresh and interesting ways. Can you think of a few artists who went through a real metamorphosis and came through it just as good or even better than before?
Two Israelis come to mind (and I thought up this subject while listening to their productions) so I may as well point them out - Ace Ventura and Perfect Stranger... both very good progressive projects with hmm, different roots good going! Aphid Moon also comes to mind, but only the old schoolers will really marvel at the transition he made from the Intastella days... same goes with Ott, looking back on his history as E.C.O., or Infected and Shidapu. In each of these cases, the old projects were mainly early experiments, whereas Psysex and BLT are both well-established.
With the sort of criteria I've laid out, can you think of any more?

Jaļa is a good examples of this.
Going from more old school goa trance, moving into the more progressive sounds - and even chillout & full on.
Also - It doesnt seem like one style excludes the other, in that sense the approach to music making in Jaļas case is more free than many others.
One thing stands out though, and that is for the time of the production, the end product will always be top notch compared to what else is being released at the time.
Another artist would be X-Dream, once more moving from the old school sound, onwards to increasing techie sound, and then with the last album beginning something softer and not so tech.
Best Wishes

What about Martin Freeland a.k.a. Man With No Name, keeping his somewhat of "comeback" in mind with his track on Hyperflow Records (the clip of the track sounds like a goaish full-on tune to me)?

Dado as in: Deedrah, Synthetic, Cypher, The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly, Transwave .. and a lot more projects. Dado in my opinion has as Simon Postford always made good music in different genres within psychedelic electronic music over the years. His part projects as Cypher and Syntetic is to die for. Professional, psychedelic and with a nerve. Big respect to this gentleman.

Oforia always kick ass but his new sound is much better IMO
Kino Oko also had diverge between some difrent styles under difrent actnames and i think is always getting better.
And many more artists that didnt change the style but increase quality and creativity with the time.
Also very good examples here posted i see like jaia

I always considered Jaia's "Sentences to Heaven" one of the earlier progressive-style pieces around... Blue Energy is a classic - everyone should have that one (and it's back in stock right now at saiko!)...

Matteo Stropa of Loopus in Fabula. Take a listen to his first release on Demon Tea then to his latest release on Fabula Records. The man has progressed and matured his style from completely whacked out funky to very danceable funky.
Others who have impressed me:

Its definately progressive in its structure yes Progressive Goa
I dont see it as "progressive psy" since that genre wasnt established at the time, so, I connect this more with the word "goa", as in an era.
Funny thing, Aurinko Records, that label was really ahead of its time - This one sounds progressive, other of the aurinko releases sound very much like modern full on.
Of course, back then, that sound was not as Cut N Paste as it is now.

talking about Jaia...I think even Silicon Sound is going through what I would call a maturing phase.....if his progressive type stuff like 'Modulate' and collaborations with Jaia are anything to go by, this can only be good
compare say 'Nexus 6' to something like 'Wired'/'Modulate'/'Oblivion' and you should get what I'm trying to say
