under what conditions u compose better??

Early when I wake up (some people call that late), my ears are much more 'clear' and I find thay get tired during the day. Also, I have less thoughts in my mind and I find it easier to take things in and focus. |

i usually create music when i'm in the mood to ... as i have had some musical education, often a sketchbook and pencil can serve as a "recording" device. just think about the sound and a few notices, and when im home i work it together if its good. otherwise it goes to my "cool melodies but don't know how to use them yet" file  |

I compose best when im either mad as hell or heart broken or in love!!!! and also especially at 2-5 am when i got to be at work at 9:00 dam...ain;t that something...
i use to smoke out but after the years smoking get's me lazy... unless im doing sound design then its cool. |

emotions smotions.. of course play a part, but what about a track that is developed over several months? many emotions can come into play
stoned, after a party etc., sometimes gives a good doorway (not always best for mixing, though) or listening critically, though
i like to think that i am not creating the music, but rather i am being guided by the music from some other source, intagible, but all around, which the psychedelic doorway makes possible
sometimes even glitches seem to speak out and something unintentional becomes a groove
but, when i am tired or nothing is coming, i dont beat the head against the wall, and instead try and work on technical apsects, read these tutorials, or try and learn something new. sometimes that even refreshes the juices

hey I agree with this I went through 10 years or chaoss and sadness I started producing right toward the top of the hill
I was climbing great stuff came out when my life became comfortable my music became less interesting and I had to find a way to get "it" back now I get the same from positive experiences which is more rewarding but yes for me bad makes good but I love when good makes good it really validates what we are doing. and shows me the value of beauty

thats interesting stuff the daleks!
i m workin on a track recently and its about 2 months now,i dont know,it seems better when composing for long periods one track...i m still in 3rd min and workin on it almost everyday!!
little changes,different feelings,bigger mixture of em!
wonder if i ll ever finish this one.
i also dont wanna force myself write.
prefer to be guided as u say by something external-pleasure is FAR better then.

i work best when i have stuff organized around me, a tidy room, no bills to pay, no one that i promised to do something for, and i know i dont have to work the day after... still i can also get counterproductive when i have those stuff to do, but i seldom finish anything in any situation, i have a bigger chance to finish something when i have stuff organized around me and in the sequencer or whatever i use.

Cooffe, snus and some caramels..
also having a main idea to persue is sometimes very good for me, cause its makes it easier to not get distracted, also i have noticed that i work better with another person, cause its easier to eliminate stuff..
i have a bad habbit of smoking a joint before i work with music, this is not always ideal....
i wouldnt call a weeded mind to be prepared to solve problems in a smooth way.... so i try to not smoke so much while working on music, but after i got started it can help to smoke a joint to enhance the idea(s)
overall i feel that my knowledge about music creation needs to be pollished before a can find a flow in composition, and i need to find some good and solid working techniques, thats something that i really need...

IMO, the best time to compose, is when your emotions are at the peak level. If you just had sex, if your gf/bf just broke up, if you just got fired...
But if I have to compose something useful, I have to have the proper energy, the proper time... Nothing good comes out of giving something ½hour, and then leave for the rest of the day.
But always belive in what you are doing, focus on what you want out of it, and why...
Create something beautiful, not for me, not for anyone else but yourself!...  |
