happy or sad?tough or easy?
i noticed some things lately(cause i ve been through some....)and want to exchange some views on this issue.
i noticed that when u go through some sad conditions,they result to a better composing in whatever u do...although i have argued with people telling me that its better to sit and compose when with nothing else in your head....at this point i d want to know what ur opinion is!
-firstly, do you let your sentiments influence u when composing?
-then,the outcome is better when through tough times(on whatever issue it may be) or when everything goes well and why in your opinion?

i cant explain the sadnes resulting to better music!
cos brain and soul is full of emotions anger and frustration needs to pump all that out in some way... music is a very good solution to that!
it works for me to!
i like also rainy weather and a quiet enviroment!
when happy though i cant realy consetrate alot! also when its to hot its difficult to have nice ideas!

it also helps when you're really stressed out..when you hit the studio you can let all the steam out..i find it really relaxes me and helps me write much better music..

at night... Especially in the winter.... Everything is different at night (well, to me it is  ), stranger, cosier... And that helps... Only problem is i can only work with headphones at night  |

Nice topic ! The best ideas come when i'm in an extreme mood state, like very sad or extremely happy. It doesn't really matter for me as long as i'm close to tears, feelingwise. Workwise i like to lay down a track in the beginning of the day and refine it during the night.

thanks for sharing people!
i agree that music is "thewayout" when your in bad mood..its a better one than go to a bar and drink or something!
also when i m happy,i tend to want to go out,meet people,social stuff!
but there are people like s surgeon who want to be happy to have good ideas..
i guess its a matter of character then...

I havent been sad for a long time, and didnt create music during the last 3 years because I was in the army.
So you say I have to try make music while Im sad?

its the opposite for me but it also depends, but i like to refine when i can listen in monitors, which i cant do at night..
maybe when i get a place where i can play 24/7 i will do what i feel for...

After a party of ur style a very good base of a track can be done really quick,
but a composition needs more time and clean mind to think with pure logic(5:),
Does it fit here?
Is it really the chord i need?
I also compose in parallel way with production.
The enjoyment of keeping my workspace clean helps me take the r8 decisions.
