If some one has heared this very first Pink Floyd album, give your opinion.

Strange Harmonical Sounds are what can describe this cd that for me could be the esence of psy music.

Erm... Ummagumma is PF's second...
Piper At The Gates Of Dawn was the first released August 5th 1967...

Unfortunately I do not own this album so I'm unable to give you any valuable comments, but it's definately an essential Floyd album.

Btw, you ought to check out the recently released Live in Pompeii DVD. This is a good definition of what psychedelia is all about...

It's not even the 2nd, it's 3rd or 4th album(3rd I think), 2nd was 'A Saucerful of Secrets'. The live album of Ummagumma is very good with live versions of tracks from the previous albums and singles etc. The studio album is very experimental. Good luck           Turn On, Tune In, Trance Out!!!

Actually Ummagumma is the 4th album but the 3rd that is a standalone, (the 3rd and 5th were soundtracks).

Piper at the gates of dawn is a briliant psychedelic pop album featuring the genius of syd barret and songs like see emily play, lucifer sam, matilda mother and the psychedelic piece interstellar overdirve.           Kinetic Honda GmbH, Worldwide Supliers of Quality noise.
Progression Sessions of the 3rd Empire!

I agree fully Dr. Borris, and I always thought that 'More' and 'Obscured by Clouds' to be great albums that have been overlooked quite a bit

I picked up the Live at Pompeii DVD yesterday. What an utterly brilliant and psychedelic video. Highly recommended...!

Live at Pompeii is absolutely stunning! Essential!

And Ummagumma is one of my favourite PF albums.

Ummagumma sure has one of the most brilliant track-titles;
"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict"

I definetly agree with you Bakke, "several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict the narrow way"; and "grantchester meadows" are two of my all time experimental tracks favorite.

Cubalistic sounds engage a powerful atmosphera with wicked sounds

A 12" from the lable Red EYes had a re mix of several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict a few years back. I can not quite remember the track name but it had a washing machine on the cover and it was blue. Loved it.
