I don't know how to make a video tutorial. It really is a pitched sine wave as PoM said.
If it helps at all, I use a single sine wave oscillator, short release time (about 70-90msec for trance tunes ranging from 142 to 144 BPM), loads of (Channel not Phase Linear) EQ to notch out the dissonant harmonics in the kick and logic's FET compressor with short release time, about 20msec attack, approx 4:1 ratio and about 3-4dB of gain reduction.
The key is in the envelope generator that modulates the sine's sweep...make sure you set the bottom (sustain) frequency of the sine oscillator to the same of your bassline's root frequency and then start modulating from high up (in the 6th octave, the higher the more the "laser" click sounding kick).

sounds cool. my studio is in boxes at the moment due to moving to a new house on the 1st of November... I'll sort a video out in november. Until then, try making a kick following these basic steps on here. The thing with UB's pitch envelope generator, is that it is not your common ADSR envelope and you can get a massive range of different sounding kicks, unlike the kicks I got from my old Doepfer and Analog Systems modular synths, which were your bog standard ADSR sweep kick...not saying they were bad...

Ultrabeat is a cool tool ,I just started to play around with it sometimes - very noobish- what I dont know is how to assign each sound(if you have more than a kick on it of course) to an own channel(for eq etc).I know it must be funnily simple as battery in cubase with assigning busses but the whole logic sequencer is brand fresh to me,though it is fantastic I cee.Especialy the softsynths I like, superstuff.
btw Camtasia rocks for tutorials and more..super dope software for it,for instance it records your desktop on demand and lots more.
..nice kick tut from DH ,I'm gonna try this method.Peace

how to use multi timbral with multi outs instrument is still obscure to me,it works but i dont get it...the chanel inspector in the arranegemnt is no more linked to the chanel in the desk ,something i dont understand...it show me only the first chanel in the inspector

Check the tunes on the set below, everysingle kick is made on UB. Choose one and I'll post the channel instrument on here so you can reverse engineer it.

Camtasia is the pro version of software for such tasks. It is also good for videos or videoclips. But it costs for sure a lot.
