the preset you uploaded ask for a sample ? can t open it
http://dl.free.fr/gocdwEn17
for es2 , midi note used was G1 - 1/16 long at a145 bpm .
nothing special kick not great but good enought, typical es2 kicks i heard used in some full on tracks but it need processing
you can get lot more punch on these kick with compression ,sometimes i m like wow wtf when i bypass the comp and put it back on hehe also some eq is needed
i tweaked es2 with a processing chain comp + eq behind so maybe it sound crap on his own , have no idea
if you make it better on the es2 ( it can get better for sure i just tweaked a bit to make a template ) be sure to share it back dont be a mohterfucker hehe |

i was always working on my kick , pitching some sine and was wondering how some kick was made, i couldnt get them... mine was always a bit more muddy cause of the curve of the pitch bend,if you check some tracks waveform you will see some artist dont even eq their kick in full on or just hp/lp.
when i tried es2 and it gave me almost wasz i was looking for in no time , best kick synth to me by far, it can go so fast from attack to tail that you can have almsot no mud in the medium but it s not everyone taste... maybe these kick are horrible for you hehe but with carefful tweaking and processing they would balst the dancefloor , the sub come so fast you could even make shorter kick than 1/16 |

here you can get a sample i bounced yesterday when working to make a kick so you get a idea of the soun you get, the one i just uploaded is better with less highs and mudd i think. it s not very well balanced it s just you can hear the kick in action ,dont pay attention to the sound quality and bassline it s a template to bounce kicks

tbh i don t like much your ub kick, no offence it could work great it s all about taste |

it snot mixed i wouldn t use these setting for a track, too much low,too much highs ,it s too bright the balnce is too much in the medium for my taste .
sustain on the es2 is full there is too much body imo and too much highs in teh attack , balance is strange... but play with the preset i posted you can get good kicks wiht some processing, i was playing with cypher for the bassline, it snot really tuned ,i almost put some random notes forgive me for that ,it can be good but don t beat esm imo. (esm seperate in 2 bands to scoop a bit the mids and saturate just the high band can sound so creamy ,love it ,sound 2 times fater than cypher it s even too fat hehe)
for the preset you can try a higher pitch and less envelop modulation on the pitch it work well too and less resonance on the filter ,slower attack for less highs can work too, i would like to get ride of that fucking peak at 2k on the synth itself wihtout equing casue i often eq aroound 1000/2500 on these kicks (in the low too around 100/500 there is some crap that i often eq a bit)
i gonna try with ub it must be great too ,maybe it need less equing with the envelop that are more flexible |
