"We plan to do some of the albums and also release 3 titles EP with an original and 3 remixes. We've been fond of vinyls for so long and finally decided to go for it."

thats fuckin awesome!
very curious though....is vinyl making a comeback? i was under the impression that pressing vinyl in 2012 was a lot like flushing money down the toilet.
i would probably buy more music, though, if I could have a record. digital is great for the car or ipod, but on a big club system, or active home listening, you just can't beat a physical wave form, IMO
i know people call you a "hipster" if you say that, but its true.

Aside from the ambient side of electronic music, vinyl is very big. Labels like Planet Mu and Ad Noiseum, frequently press on vinyl. Sometimes EPs are vinyl and digital only, no CD. So vinyl is definitely not dead. I've built a very nice vinyl collection in the last two years.
Plus, if the studio is on the ball, every vinyl release comes with a download card to download the high quality digital files, which is pretty awesome. |
