Hi guys,
Im really on to buy this but can you sidechain with the 1176SE Compressor?

Is the Realverb Pro a lot better than Reverence in cubase?

Is the Pultec EQP-1A a lot better than a normal VST EQ?

Thanks in advance.

The word on the street is, that the UAD2 has THE best sounding compressors and EQs, for mixing and mastering.
Now the thing is, there are also some great sounding 3rd party plug ins that don't require hardware to run on your DAW.

Think about what it really is you need, the UAD2 offers great sounding plug ins (I have not used it my self, but people, whose opinion, I trust, think so) and a hefty amount of CPU to run them.

Peace out.

a bit offtopic, but...

don't know if UAD objectively worth the money, but when you pay for something, you may want to learn what you have paid for very well. To feel that your money are not wasted. A kind of psychological issue, works for me at least...

So, i think that UAD + learning how to use them is a good investement...           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

you will loose your money, you better buy something else , dsp cards are like dongle and they are overpriced imo, with todays cpu stick with native, in 2 good mix you wont be able to hear with one is made with uad or logic stock plugins, i mean they are just tools, good ones but if you are looking for killer plugs that will make your mix sounding great by magic it wont happen

I know how to use dynamic processors mate but some affect the sound in a digital way that's why I was looking for to by the uad.

But just recently I started to use waves plugins (analoge emulations) and have to say that I found what I was looking for, at least price wise.

Are them the SSL G4000 suite ones? I'm split between them and the Sonnox ones. They cost an arm and a leg!

SSL 4000 yes.
Im also using the V series wich is very good 2.

And yes they are very expensive and the only reason Im using them is because a friend of mine bought them and is letting me use them.

I think I rather go to a top end studio every time I had a cd to mix instead of buying them.

Waves is good but...

...Sonnox is better!

IMO, for the equivalent plugins. YMMV.

i was a bit arsh saying you ll loose your money cause they are good plugs, but i wouldn t recomend to someone to go with dsp cards cause it s expensive and with todays cpus no need for dsp power ,some native plugs are as good too and sometiems even better .

I had a UAD-1 a couple of years before with a selection of around 10 plugs I bought extra. To my ears were the best sounding. Not that the natives or the ones mentioned aren't good. On the contrary. They all do the same thing and they do it extremely well.

I believe it all comes down to be a matter of personal taste and sound aesthetics these days. The UAD plugs add a very certain and distinct sonic character which personally I would never change and If I ever set up a pro studio again, I will definitely go with the UAD-2 Quad with all the plugs without any hesitation.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.
