Zebra sounds weak and plastic, like a toy for learning basic synthesis.

This one's all Zebra except for the sampled percussion and the Aah choir pad in the breakdown at 4:54 secs - (which was Omnisphere IIRC) and Messrs. Sagan and Watts.

[trollin' and flamin']
Do Cosmosis's song sounds weak or does Zebra needs expert hands to be tweaked in order to sounds "pro"?

Its not an easy synth in the beginning, but everything is well described in the manual with heaps of tips & tricks.

If you quote someone make sure you get the whole thing, I also pointed out in my original post that the zebra needs a lot of touching up and tweaking before you get it to the sweet spot. Hence my first statement.
I have no problem understanding the zebra, it is fairly logical I just prefer something that gets me from point a to b quicker.
And concerning who can punch out what from what software is very subjective, no offence to mr cosmosis but that whole track contains exactly those sounds I personally disregard in music production. Let me elaborate, the sounds sound good technically, it's just that the sounds are not those type of sounds I would usually try to create in my type of music. There is the difference I believe. Does that make sense or would you want me to elaborate it further?
Cheers,
A

can t listen on Cosmosis track on this computer but i m sure it sound great but imo it s true zebra can sound really plastic,i dont like much the oscillator caractere. tbh if i was rich with all the synths i want i would not use it much .
edit :i listned on shitty headphone and imo it s plastic land in the track,i like this caractere on some sounds but i clearly understand some hate it, that just taste in the end..(but it sound a bit toyish imo, it s zerba caractere ) |

It makes perfect sense, i was just trolling and flaming (that is the reason why i cut your post) but i was interested in understand your point of view for real, don't get me wrong.
And to be honest sometimes i feel the same about Zebra, Sylenth pads are lush out of the box and its basses are warm.

i never got good sounds of it, also the samples i have listened are not fat enough for my taste.
im sure it can be a good synth, but not for me.
(except the bass-guitar emulation i used one day...)
cheers

It sounds plastic, but in a good way for psychedelic trance tunes, imho. Its a ncie complement in a mix that has some organic analogue synths going on as well.
Still haven't bought one, I just got really quick at programming the thing when I was running the demo version which spat out random notes after a few minutes.
Although not as diverse, I do think ES2 sounds better, for the stuff I like to make anyway.
Peace out.

So you say the Virus sounds plastic(whatever that means) as well?
sample import might or might not come, no clear statement on this.I got heaps of OSC Presets, so no real need for this. When i want to synthesize samples in a strange way i would use krishna since its made for that kind of stuff..

I have the Virus TI Polar and it defo sounds plastic, especially when you hear the raw oscillator --> filter sound.
Again, not in a bad way, but it sure does not replace my go to synths for bass and main lead work (which nowdays tend to be samples of VCOs loaded up in EXS 24), Trillian along with ES2 and ES1. Logic native synths, yes, but sound brilliant!

The Virus sounds great to my ears same with zebra. Sylenth as well, i love sylenth for bass.
