only 2 or 3 instruments can make VERY impressive effect...
And as i understand psy-trance - it is a finding special sound. Special instrument. For every track....

maybe you should try some simple bass lines and percussion (kick, snare , hat , clap ...) but try to master them perfect for example the pitch, and i think that you will have some basics in doing the synth and the effects It will sound more profesionall
