well ofcourse there isn't a BOC vs Abakus release coming up but a guy named Scott Hansen from Sacramento with his Tycho project is pretty close creating this blend.
his new album Sunrise Projector is one of the most tasty ambient releases I discovered lately. smoooooth music... enjoy!

I'm not sure it's the same guy, imo it's not
but if someone knows the name of the 'trance' Tycho that would be interesting ofcourse.
anyway , his music is smooth ... It has this 70's feeling in it , like you can see in his CG work too.
