Hello people, so i wanted to maybe read som more of this, and even find out if there are any of you who like using two different basstypes in one single track.
Like starting off with a sidechained singlenote bass, or dubstep bassbeat, and just change it to fullon or dark bass? i think this is quite cool if done right, but according to flow, will it be killed by doing that? o__0

Take a listen to some frozen ghost tunes, you will notice the smooth changing bass, very melodic in the beggining, very psychedelic full on at the end

Same bass instrument in 2 different tracks, one dry one wiht flanger, verb, delay, etc, and a 2nd membrainey kick that I crossfaded in and out now and then. And the outro.
This was my first try at more than one bass sound.

it can work great but imo it can also cut the leggs when it s not done at the right time with the right groove and kill the flow.

Two types of bass in one track ?
Why only 2 if you can use 5 or 6 ?

why use 5 or 6 separate, when you can layer 5 or 6 different elements in each of 5 or 6 slots? not exactly recommended without care
.
starts dnb bass, then psybass, then electric guitar bass, then dnb bass,
This song is nuts though. Just gotta keep the energy going and you should be good. Also if you've got a good beat going with the drums, it helps on the less staccato bass parts - something has to keep up the energy.
If the track is more laid back, you can keep the energy up with a gated lead over a less interesting portamento slide bass even if the drums aren't going crazy. That keeps the rhythmic aspect of it up a bit.
