Hi there. I used the search and read similar topics for 20 minutes, but couldn't find the answers.

First: I gave an indoor party some time ago and the volume was so loud (but still clear ) that I was having a hard time to listen what comes out of my headphones (Sony) even with a very loud volume. Funny thing is that I did other parties with the same equipment (in other places) and did not had this problem.
Any hint?

And the more important: I want to record my set at a party, I'm using 2 CDJs + Mixer to play and a computer with Sound Forge to record. The problem is: it's clipping all the time even with half to total volume. I never did it before, so I must be making a common mistake. Anybody can help me?
Thank you.

Turn the master volume down! Either that, or for some reason the record level on the soundcard mixer has been turned up too high - this is most common when you're recording using the MME drivers as the Windows Mixer is capable of boosting the input signal far too much.

Most mixers have two outputs, one labelled 'Master' and another labelled 'Booth' or 'Zone', each with a separate level control. Connect the Master output to the computer and the Booth output to the sound system; you can now control the levels of the party and of the recording separately.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
