1. u know that, u're playin a softsynth, and when u stop, it just plays on. how can i make the bastard stop, without re-opening the project (it happens with Nuendo and Vokator)?
2. i play the kick+bass (offbeat bassline) via the loopazoid sampler. the midi timing is very bad, means that it plays well half a bar, and then it plays the kick and the bass shuffled, even on the same time sometimes....any ideas how to solve? its a bit nervous to produce like this....
thx in adv and cheers , Roman

Hi there. . .
Hey anakoluth, you don`t want to tell me that you forgot to close the Release of ADSR in your SoftSinth. If you put the Release lot of open, the sound never stop!!!
Understand me???
If this thing happens again you only have to close the Release.

Your problem in second question is LATENCY!
I guess you have a lot of latency in your computer.
The things that cause latency are Cpu,Sound Card. . .
But you can regule more and less the latency.
Go to the preferences of your Soft Sequencer, and go to the latency regulation, and then you have to see what are the values that you work better without later timing.
The representation of the values is in "Ms". |

i thaught i'd get that answer for the second one...so heres the next q. to this: how should i configure the latency? increase/decrease? and what steps (i mean amounts of ms) should i take? or doesnt it matter? sorry for that silly q.... but i have to learn!!

What soft you use???
In logic you only have to go to Audio Preferences,
and then go to Buffer Size (Latency).
On this you have to experiment the value that is good for you.
I change the value like 2 in 2 weeks, cause sometimes latency appears and i hate this shit!
But you can experiment the 512ms(i guess) and if this not resolve your latency, experiment other values.
Hope this help you.
Sorry the bad english |

You understand what i say?
You go to Audio Preferences, then you go to the sound card "area",and then you have something near of the sound card drivers that calls-Buffer Size(latency),in this site you have a list with all the values like. . .64(1,5ms)
128(3ms)
256(6ms)
512(12ms)
1024(23ms). . . .and you have some more values. . .
And you have to experiment all this values,to see what value is better for you.
So you put the music play, and go experimenting in the same time the values, and when your music play ok with no latency ,you fix the value, and work with it.
Cya. . .

5512 samples is around 128ms (on 44.1khz).
Can you explain more on the problem? What sound plays where and how?

well kiko, i understood it perfectly. but it isnt like this in nuendo. u dont have "preset values" there, u have to write them in by yourself.
mike, the problem is that the groove doesnt play in the right time...its like shuffled.
anyways, i experienced a bit yesterday, and i found the buffer size that makes it play the right way. it works very fine now....
also that thingy with the adsr release is ok now.
thx again i'll send you a bunch of flowers
