In case it's of interest, the following info is from Gio@Dakini regarding two new releases planned for this year and a few releases almost out of stock.

------------------------------------------

2009: The new Makyo album is written, just awaits final mixing, a long
and daunting process. But I intend to spend March thru May on that...
very much an exploration into the tribal dub sound; been listening to
lots of African Head Charge's "Songs of Praise", and some of that vibe
has crept in... also a very groovy debut full-length album from San
Francisco's Drumspyder, who has 2 tracks on Tribal Matrix 2.
Drumspyder is a percussionist specialising in arabic percussion, and
his album will be the most danceable release we've done yet, very
tight fusions of egyptian rhythms and breakbeat/dub-house grooves...
with melodies/electronics too, mind you, not just drumming...

Also, the ongoing collapse of the music industry means we will
probably not be re-pressing releases in the future, so people who like
the Dakini sound with its full graphic package are encouraged to get
the cd upon release. You might want to also let people know on the
forums that DAK2111 Jairamji, DAK2112 Sky Dancing 3, and DAK2113 Live
at Dakini Nights are all on the verge of extinction, less than 50
copies remain, and they will not be re-pressed.

ciao,

Gio

I haven't found it anywhere either. I asked Dakini about it. They said that it's on it's way to stores. I ordered mine direct from them. It's not listed on their site yet, but if you e-mail them you can get a copy. Cost was $21USD including shipping.

That news from gio is all good, I've got to admit a lot of the stuff being released as psychedelic downtempo releases over the last year or so I've hated, I think it's been the worst time for the music I love in a long time. I just don't get that glitchy stuff. I think the remedy for this is some good bouncy new dakini stuff, dynamic tribal ambience is what I need , I'm hoping Tribal Matrix 2, this new Makyo album and Drumspyder live up to my expectations.

It might be some small comfort to know that he is fleshing out the details for an online store where you can purchase any of the Dakini releases in Digital Download. Not quite the same as holding the packaged product in your have, but if WAV/FLAC with cover art ar an option, it may not be a bad deal.

Been listening to TM2 that past couple of days. They did a fantastic job on it IMO.

It'd be good as well if the digital store has the 2-disc version of Ishq - Orchid. I'd like to be able to purchase that at some stage...

Reading that last post of mine, I'm afraid I sound like I'm trying to come off like some kind of expert on all things Dakini. I apologize for that. "Any release" was me filling in details that might not be correct, though I'd like to think that any of the out of print/never to be re-pressed stuff would be available for purchase.

Either way, I totally encourage anyone interested the idea to drop him an e-mail and let him know.
