could anyone please explain why twisted records in london does business with australia based Dance Aid does their invoice in Euros???

why should they do that?

i think its totally fake..consider the exchange rates from Australian dollar to Euro..and then some day to Pfund in england..seems absolut stupid to me..

so i actualy dont take this bill serious at all..

And if you believe that then I have a bridge for sale that you may be interested in.

Not sure what his Europe fee is but i know for a fact he requested 25,000USD to perform here which he said was a deal and then lowered it to 15,000USD to make it appear we were getting a deal when we told him no. bankrupt my booty.

That's 16,829.15EUR 2 years ago. How much is the bridge you have up for sale because his booking fee is real.

that must be the reason why almost nobody is able to book him..

i would support local acts anyway..even if they copy stuff..then i dont have to pay phantasy fees just for a name but got kinda same music in the end..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

if you book artists for the great music they did several years ago..its ok

but not for that fees honestly..if one could take this serious @ all..

Still, Simon Posford's touring schedule and his fees have nothing to do with the financial situation of the Twisted label. If Simon P gets money for a Hallucinogen set, it doesn't help Simon H and the Twisted label much.

So I don't really see how the discussion of Simon P's fees contributes to this topic.

well simon is guilt tripping people and whining about the financial situation twisted is in when he could easily help out by putting some money into it. the usual artist-label relation has the label getting a % of the artist's appearance fee, so if that's not happening at twisted then it should be no surprise that the label is dying considering 95% of the money made in the scene is from live sets, not cds sold

um cos it's easier for the artist, a universal currency? as a promoter from australia all the deals we've done with international artists has been in euros. also if you look in another thread cosmosis, who is english, has a set fee in euros as well..

kinda strange for me, since the currency always differs from day to day..especially nowadays..

if i would charge that amount of money i would definatly go the direct way.why not? where is the problem at all?

if Euro to AUD or streight to Pounds..dont get the point actualy..

imagine..you transfer that amount of money in Euro to the Uk it takes several days more i suggest..and the rate on the actual transfer is set..kinda risk isn`t it?

then come back to the australian promoter and ask for the lost money due to transfer...stupid imo..

why should anyone take that risk..

sure you made a contract and all..and fixed it on the day you made the contract but its always one more thing that could go wrong imo..especially when one talks about that amounts of money..

was just curious about..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

well it's just easier to have one fee in one currency that you can tell anyone in the world. also if all artists set fees are in euros it's easier for the promoters to compare different set fees of dif artists as well as plan their budget etc without having to fuck around converting different currencies and worrying about exchange rates

but that fee changes from day to day..

euro to pound today is not euro to pound tomorrow..

well..maybe in this scene is common to not take care of it..but in almost every other business it is..thats why i was wondering..

but ok..if its like that, why not..consider the imense changes in rates betwenn € and USD in the last year for example..people would loose alot of money if they dont take care for exchange rates..

thats why it was so much fun to buy the technical stuff actualy in the Us for us Europeans in the last year..

so if a label or artist is not aware of that i am pleased as long as its good for me..

ok, i get your point but your example with cosmosis, wich is an individual and does not go through a big label like twisted , it might be ok for him..

but such a big label should consider imo....

and Euro is just another currency..no big deal..

if you coe from taiwan you wouldn`t charge in euro i suggest..

just my drunken thoughts maybe but still wondering..

cheers           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

watched the twisted dvd for the first time last night. most of the time it was even worse than this one: http://tinyurl.com/yjohdn3
(with an exception of the vj set which could be a bit better too)
thus, I came to a conclusion that the direction twisted is taking is a bit scary... and if they continue digitalizing organic concepts this way, I'd probably be the last one supporting them...
