Tweaking samples is big fun. I use mostly fl sampler lfos and env. for pitch and filter.
Not always, but mostly i add some effects, phaser, flanger, amp or anything i just like to use.
Followed by good equing with waves reg/q and/or some filter work and finally
i setup a comp(if nesscary) and add some delay and/or reverb.
I also load sometimes drumloops with slicer or granulizer(what can give really twisted results)and tweak them to give a weird rythm.

Indeed!
I record 0.13 sec voice @440 Hz, loop it, and load it on NN19 sampler tweaking automations,it sounds very dramatic!
