Tweaking any knob for a period of time makes Windows think the app hangs.

OK, celebrate all you Windows haters, 'cause this is so dumb 
I wrote the problem in the subject.
AFAICS Windows has special time out settings which explain the system how to react when the application is not responding. When I grab a knob on a VST and record automation after some period of time (probably 15-20 sec) the interface of the program becomes irresponsible, and though the music is still being played and knob actually is being tweaked and the software keeps working after I release the knob, it really hinders me.
Anyone knows that system behavior? I think I didn't have the same thing on XP.
I'm on C5 and Win7.

does that happen when you are tweaking or just randomly after, for example, you hit stop and instead of that it continues playing with interface hanging?

yes this is indeed some issue with cubase.. im trying to find a solution to it but no luck as of yet..
fl works fine so im not looking very hard.. 
i think i saw a post in the cubase forums about that few days ago.. but no solution was given.
and it happens with win7 and vista only
