hi,
I am new to music creation etc etc ... Working on a track on Logic and am using a guitar VST instrument. Although I get the tune or melody I want - I cannot get it to sound tweaked - instead it sounds very 80's punk as opposed to 60's floyd - which is the sound i want. I am thinking maybe addin a delay or maybe automating pitch to go high when I want a tweaky sound - or a combination of both - just wondering if you guys know something that is usually done to add a more psy fluidity to an already exisitng melody. I hope this makes - this is best I can do to explain the situation. Thanks all

what guitar vst instrument?

U have portamento or glide in that vst?Portamento/Glide make the notes go up and down from one to other without changing suddenly (gliding), maybe you can try that...

Good ideas...

Also, try adding an envelope filter (touch-wah), or an amplitude-responsive flanger or phaser... these will add a little 'tweak' to the beginning of each note, and will make the sound more 'synthy'.

oh i almost forgot, something constructive......

try mixing down the sound you have and doing some offline processing to the sound. incorporate all the lil tweaks and fx that you like (ohmboyz is fun), and then layer it on top of your vst synth.           www.organicparadox.com

afaik, david gilmour uses a realy large stack of fx for his sound,., they include compressors delays flangers fuzz .etc.,
also, he has a lot of different guitar sounds.,
can you name an song/time in song of what sound you mean exactly?.

@ZilDoggo Well I was thinking more like on the run I love the fluidity and the tweakage in that track - Ok now for part two of my question - is it a good idea to use the already existing sythns in LOgic - like the EVD6 and the EVOC PS or should I be downloading a different sythn that is common in our music? I was using the SeqDistFunk_ZF under instruments of the EVD6 - using a flanger or phaser does not help so much - I looked for a portamento or glide as FluoSamsara mentioned but couldnt find it. Should I install something more? Thanks for all the help peeps - this is why I love this forum. @Anakoluth - organic is right talk about thread jacking - Cheers all

distortion can make it a bit warmer if u use it right and gate it as should give it a homemade flavour not the vst flavour
