Hi,
I wonder if anyone has any tips on synthesizing twangy noises, not plucky but twangy. A good example is on the track 'Welcome' by Tikal.
Most of the sounds in that have a fantastic 'boinnnng' springyness.
Thanks

Rather than feeling that you're about to have the rug pulled from under you, let me teach you how to dance on a flying carpet |

or find it here

otherwise you can do that sound with almost any synth that has ringmodulation, try a clean patch, one osc with sawwave and sync + ringmodulation a tiny experiment with FM knob for differnt twangs
though i think nordrack II the vsti wil do it real good..
i dont have any settings for you but experiment your self.. thats the best way.
but i think ringmodulation is the key for this sound.. maybe someone can tell more..

Thanks a lot New Era Scientist. I hadn't thought about ring modulation, the built in cubase one adds a touch of what I need but it would be better at the synth stage. Although I don't think I have any synths at all that have ring modulation. Z3ta maybe, but I bought it and just can't get my head round it, its been sitting unused for about 3 months. Yay for me! :idiot: |

Listen guys, I'm still no closer to getting anywhere near this sound. Sorry to bump but I can't get the 'boing' in it.
Heres a sample of something similar from a different track
