I prepare this Tutorial to Teach how to Identify FAKE and REAL WAV's FILE. A lot of people think they are getting Real Wav's but isn't, is a MP3 converted to Wav's !! I know that Trick, if anyone know other, pls publisher too, or in other software too !!

Let's GO:

Enter the software: Sonic Foundry - SOUND FORGE

1. OPEN THE "WAV" FILE and click to PLAY IT !
2. GO to -TOOLS- MENU and click in SPECTRUM ANALYSIS

HERE THE PICTURE:

http://www.cinenetwork.blogger.com.br/menu1.jpg

IF NOTHING HAPPEN IN THAT WINDOWS, CLICK IN OPTIONS ( in SPECTRUM ANALYSIS WINDOW ) and them UNMARK the option MONITOR PLAYBACK and them MARK it AGAIN !!

HERE THE PICTURE:

3. Now a wave appear in the window !!

IN REAL WAV FILE, the wave are a STRAIGHT LINE, to the begging to the end, no STEP on it !

OK, now, if the track is a FAKE WAV FILE ( MP3 CONVERTED TO WAV )

4. if a little STEP appear at 20.050Hz + - are a 320 MP3 FILE converted to WAV.

Here the picture of the SAME FILE, converted to MP3 320 and back to WAV !

http://www.cinenetwork.blogger.com.br/320.jpg

If the STEP appear in 19.80HZ + - is a 256 MP3 FILE converted to WAV

If the STEP appear in 19.00HZ + - is a 192 MP3 FILE converted to WAV, less than it, is 128, 96....

Here the Same WAV file, converted to 192MP3 File and them back to WAV.

This because when you convert to a mp3 file, the wave lost parts that it never back, so even if you convert to WAV file again, the wave still broken ( the step that appear )

Just a TIP ;P

Guys, this is an anti trade forum... If a topic under trance asking for pp to stop renaming tracks was locked and deleted but not without being escrachado before, this one shall hv a similar future.

Even if not, it´s under the wrong sub forum, it belongs to trance subforum, or technical. But, if it were there, it would be locked already. Cause the mods of those areas are very strict about this.

If it´s lingering is probably cause LP and Gui doesn´t feel very strongly either way on this matter...           www.plurall.org (the best vibed brazilian trance forum, in portuguese)

NOTICE:

#1- Nowhere in the guidelines it says that you can't promote at country sections, it does not say that you can't open whatever trance related threads in the country sections.

#2 The deal is like this - brazilian usually dont read anything out of the brazilian section, japanese wont go out of japan section, so.... it is up to the local section mods to decide how they feel about it...

ciao.

I'll add to Gui's statement:

1. this thread does not belong in this section. 'Trance in Brazil' is meant for discussing trance in this little country of ours. Topics that pertain to trance in the whole world do not belong in here, they belong in other parts of the forum. This does not mean this section is meant only for party promotion - quite the contrary, I've been really vocal concerning the lack of more substantive discussion in here. This however is not a flaw of Brazil, it is of all the other regional sections. Improvement, imo, comes from people making an effort to try and come up with relevant topics for us to discuss. A tutorial on mp3s and wavs certainly does not fit the bill.

2. Regarding the topic at hand > as much as anyone argues that this does not relate to trading, I strongly feel it does. Look people, you're all strongly encouraged to buy your music instead of copying it. If you happen to be an engineer, sound engineer, or just a sound, technical freak, please go to the 'Equipment' section. In a few days I'll move the first topic over there, and let the moderators there handle it. I do not moderate that section, but I'd be strongly inclined to delete it anyway. The message remains > copy kills your music.

have a nice day.

oh, and btw, this lingered for as long as it did 'cause i was really busy @ work. I do feel strongly about the subject matter.
the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....
