just to get some info, is turion a good processor for music production?

Umm what model? in what system? What additional components is in the laptop?
Provide some more info please.

Yup, vegetal is totally right.

Turion with 256 Mb of ram in your motherboard will suck!

LOL!

I have a Turion64 1.6 Ghz, 2GB RAM and 128MB dedicated Graphics Mem. in my laptop.

External Sound Device and i have had zero problems.

Its a HP DV6000z by the way.
