Somebody please try to convince the creator of PROTRUDE FLOW to license it for party decorations, check:

The gist: Magnetic liquid moves to sound frequencies in 3D in a sort of aquarium. A computer converts sound to a magnetic attraction above the liquid.
Maybe you could have several, each reacting to different frequencies, one for the kick, top end, etc..
Then, colour the liquid and project the images large scale at a festival!

I love it!

Don't all rush at once.
Is no-one in the slightest bit inspied by this?

Image a frozen-still image of a waterdrop hitting the water surface: that 'crown' splash it creates?

Thats what it is, morphing and moving to the beat in 3D.

*sigh* Hopeless...

I guess people hasn't really understood the process. I am a vj also and considering the synchro with sounds and visuals this system that the guy has invented is so smart. With a simple micro , being able to transform the frequencies into magnetic forces throught the vpu and stuff, and then project the effect on a screeen is very very intelligent. I would pay a lot to get this machine, or even to see an exhibition of the guy, must be impressuve?           Out Now >> V.A "1001 Flights" (Air Snare recs)

you can make them yourself if you find a way to dissolve a magnetic substance (like the top layer of tape cassettes) in a fluid (hence the dark color) and put a working speaker underneith and above the liquid, it should display the array of magnetic beams that way ... getting the speakers to play music isn't that hard (hence that's what they're made for), it'll just take some figuring out a waterproof system...

combining multiple or even moving, and differently shaped magnetic fields is just the next step

i bet there are school sience projects that use the same techniques, i saw it myself at the london sience museum once
