Hey trance makers!

I have a question... mostly to raise my topic and post count but also for interest and science purpose!

How does Trold make their yber phat bass and kick combo?

Like in the track "Slice of pizza"

Very heavy, i like that sort of bass kick combo.. its so phat, i would like to get some ideas on that approach!

wonder what they use?! anyone knows..

video iz very fuking accurate of a similar experiance lol, but the answer to your qestion i think relies heavily on experimenting. ive bien trying for several months now, my monitoring iznt perfect nor iz my room, BUT i have had close results to references. try with multiband stuff carfull eq swop them round try this try that. pm me your combo if you want my ear advice

I have my guesses..

i believe the kick is very short and clicky and probably contain all the low freq in the begining, so by pitchbending it you will get it very massive.. The pogo effect in FL would probably work for this..

so the kick is short and the bass is massive, but what they use for bass i dont know.. it sounds like the bass is also very short and stubby... its probably Eq out in the 250 - 400hz region to get that round effect...

ill do some experiments later when i finished a track im working on...

I would do it using 2 basses one offbeat(the video one) and than short pucker, you can easily create that short bass only using a virus and some eq (if at all) If there would be more twang it would be more work
The mp3song sounds pretty muddy imo&mytaste          http://facebook.com/ansolas

it sound like what you said, the kick is indeed a simple sine without no attack at all and sounds more snappy among with the fat bassline, i like that track a lot btw, the kick-bass gives you that vomit emotion and the growl, i could say it sounds like VB timbre, therefore more focused on the low area end than mid where it totally sucks

try a big narrow boost in the low for the kick, imo the kick is equed like this, boost in the low, big cut in the medium (try around 400 hz and not narrow),small boost around 2000/3000 and big cut in the hight (try with a shelf filter maybe) ,but imo it s not natural enough ,not really subtle . the bass maybe it s the processing and i m wrong but i have a feeling it s not coming from a vsti
