i thought that would confuse people. but it does mean something, at least to me.

the album is not bad--i guess my expectations were a little too high.

I know what you mean

This is a happy mood album... for some people this might sound not deep enough.

I think its a great album, dont care what anyone else says about it! This album is (IMO) a perfect downtempo album to play after a party, to unwind and relax with some grooves.

Nice one Tripswitch!           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears

Hi everyone,

I thought it might help the discussion if I gave you all a bit of background about where the album came from ...

When I sat down with Youth last year to discuss the direction the album should take, his brief was to develop the atmosphere I created when I performed my live set at Turaya Gathering last summer. It was a beautifully hot summer's day and the set was late afternoon, when the hottest part of the day was passing and people were relaxing in the early evening sun with a spliff and a drink, kids were running around and dancing - basically the vibe was warm, happy and chilled. So that's exactly what I've tried to do - and the result, as Joti says, is (I hope) a happy and positive album.

Certainly Youth has told me that I hit the brief straight on the nose

If anyone was expecting another 'That Much Closer To The Sun', then I'm sorry to disappoint. I do love that album but Russell and myself have very different styles, and for Circuit Breaker particularly my sights were set on producing something which gave you that summer evening vibe. I think everyone would agree that variety is the spice of life and certainly in terms of LSD's output this is key to keeping people interested. The Kuba album will be different again, as will Suns of Arqa ... and as will my next album.

Please don't misunderstand me - I'm very grateful for ALL your feedback and honoured to have my work discussed here. I just thought that if I gave you the context within which the album was composed it might help to clarify why it is what it is.

Keep it coming!!           "amnesia is not knowing who one is and wanting desperately to find out. euphoria is not knowing who one is and not caring. ecstasy is knowing exactly who one is - and still not caring."

I've given this album a few more listens and it's growing on me. 'Cartwheel' is an excellent track.

If you like good melodic ambient then i also recommend you check out the great album 'Higher Grounds' by Healer - and his first album 'Wonderground' which isn't as good (imo) but has some very nice tracks (like 'Angels' and 'Go to Sleep').

If you just like nice ambient with haunting melodies (and don't insist on having everything 'psy') then i also highly recommend you get the Ulrich Schnauss albums 'Far Away Trains Passing By' and 'A Strangely Isolated Place' - both beautiful melancholic masterpieces.

Finally - if you fancy some free ambient tracks with nice melodies you could try getting hold of some of Rody Coronel's stuff (he works under the name of 'Minister'). He does a lot of different styles (including more mainstream club) so don't be put off if you get a track you don't like. Some of his ambient tracks are first class.

Actually it's looking like the fall Late Oct/early Nov ... currently sorting out a bit of a tour with Evan (Bluetech). Will keep my website updated when we get dates confirmed ...           "amnesia is not knowing who one is and wanting desperately to find out. euphoria is not knowing who one is and not caring. ecstasy is knowing exactly who one is - and still not caring."

The first times I listened on this album I thought that this is godo, but it lacks that little special thing who makes you wanna go back and listen to it again. But after I've listened to it numerous times I started to discover more details, more feelings started to grow within me and that thing who earlier was just something "average" transformed into something intelligent and beautiful.

I agree, this album is better then I thought! Some of the drumming sequences are shamanic and enchanting. One could dream of a colab, between Adham Shaikh and Tripswitch , pure drum'ania. Furthermore, I think, the album is also orginal in many regards. At times the album even surpasses, my two fav. artists .SHP.,OTT. and that's saying alot.
9,5, almost perfect!

the best albums are those that you can't quiet understand in a first listening, and tripswitch is a perfect example of that

i still play it alot and i never get bored...

It has lot of diferent feelings..and deep feelings...

first it starts more in a deep melancholic way..and after it gets this super relaxed happy feeling...some tracks reminds me alot on the movy "the beach"...it has the same feelings in it..

anyhow...great album...!!!

After reviewing this thread I must say this Tripswitch (if you're reading):
Your music is Amazing and Wonderful. You don't seem to be rightly credited here and it doesn't seem to do u any justice!
You have brought me great vibes and feelings listening to your sounds. Not only your cd but also the collaborations with Gaudi are a treat (plz continue your work!)
That said, regarding the cd I personally believe you should have left 'Viscous' at 'Namaskar'

Wishing for more tracks like 'Exiled Manta Mix', 'Deer Park'.

p.s
not looking to kiss anyone's behind by this comment...
