I have just bought Trilogy today and I dont really know what I was expecting but I expected alot more than this!!I think the sound is awful and you can get a better sound out of vb-1 which is free.Is it just me?Does anyone else feel the same? or do i just need to fiddle more?I feel like ive been ripped off ...wtf!

Trilogy is great, i mostly use the acoustic and electric bass. I havent been able to use the waveforms yet.

Keep fiddling mate

I mean I know this doesn't help but keep playing with it..
select saw wave.. lowpass filter all the way down, envelope mod all the way up. play with the decay of the filter envelope.

Its a matter of taste, knowing what sounds fit your style of music and actually knowing how to get them out of a synth.
For example, I had a listen at the two tunes on your myspace and I would say we have very different ideas of what is a good sounding bassline. Trilogy is capable of much better (to my ears anyway) sounding bass sounds than the ones you have used.
For example, I think vb-1 is average sounding, at best.

You might also wanna push the bassline up in the mix. I mean, I am not into that style of trance and I know generally these kind of tunes are bass light, but that is taking the piss! There is no bass in there!

I have a myspace too and I know what that kind of encoding does to your mixes.
Agreed, producing on headphones does not help matters at all. If I can suggest a cheap solution, Alesis M1 Actives (mk2).
They are my second pair as my Mackies HR824s produce a lot of bass for those late night sessions where I have to keep the noise down.

trilogy is really not "thin".it has a lot of subs the secret is 2 waveforms with a lot of tweaking,i prefer to export to wav eventually because it sounds more stable.happy tweaking

Trilogy can sound fantastic for bass, just give it some time.

Load some raw waveforms like the 303 saw or the Arp saw then load a quadrafuzz on the insert, guarantee you can get big solid bass out of it. You can also mix it with a sine or triangle wave and you should have more bass than you want.

Make sure to mess with the filter and amp envelopes to get a punchy sound out of it as well.
