music that has been made by person sounds like made by robots....
and maybe used by million ppl maybe in house but not in psytrance... so it is more personal imho....

why do it the hard way?
and house chords samples sound way more organic...

1. Do it the hard way so the sound is completely controlled by you. It's your sound, you've made it, therefore it's exactly what your mind wants to be in that particular part of the track.

2. House chords only sound more organic because that's how they've been made.. you can make a sound just as organic (if you know how)... or just go and record a nice old hammond organ, or wurlitzer or whatever...

It's not much harder anyway... it's just more personal.

What's the difference between your own made hammond sample and an other hammond sample? The result and sound is still the main point, not the way of doing the chord sample. They both can sound great. If you have problems with your conscience when using ready samples it's your own problem. In my opinion using samples and doing music in easier way isn't decreasing the value of the music.

And i definitely agree with kirna. It's absurd to speak about personality in this case.

Please don't start insulting me because we disagree.

You're being hypocritical anyway, if you're encouraging creativity then don't encourage AKAI samples. If you're encouraging using pre-made sounds, don't expect anything new.

how did i insult you??
and i wasnt expecting anything new from poptrance scene... very few of pop acts have the guts for tryting something _"NEW"_ samples for example

lol... seems like i'm being cornered here.
Oh well... i do kinda see where you're coming from.
But I still don't agree, mostly musically, if it's a pre-made chord i don't feel it's your own.

This is thoroughly off topic anyway. Let's hope dma's learnt how to make/sample the chord he wants           www.myspace.com/beat_nik

i like to do something new... and i'm not the only one here... weee i'm not from the poptrance scene!
he wants to learn how to do other's stabs so then he can make HIS stabs... this is how psy works and why psy has envolved so much in the past few years... i know some people don't agree with this but if you know where to search you'll find something unique and new.

thanku 4 the support guys,
first of when it comes to synthesis, there is always a set procedure to achieve a particular sound,,!!!sometimes u can cheet and make a similar kinda sound but u can always tell it isnt the genuin sound!!
with chords there is no just using a akai sample solution!!
each chord is built up from 3 or so notes !!so they have to be exactly the 3 notes u need to fit youre track, house chords are usualy minor wich isnt always apropriate,
if u learn the wright way to do something, u can custimize it to youre sound and use it in any situation, because u have the freedom of noing it's structure, this is very important, especialy in trance because we are the only breed that uses synthesis so dramaticly
please dont try and make everyone feel unoriginal because we want to learn the industry!!
e-motion is wright, that is how evolution works!!

i'm really not to get on a fight... (do i have to write this eveytime?..)

i don't know if, or i'm not shure if we are the only breed that uses synthesis so dramaticly , but it seems that other musicians, practising other kinds to be using it a bit more creatively
understand, that i really dig what it's beeing done, by all you released and not released artists, musicians... i am one too, that too look to get determined sounds riffs, that are used regularly on known tracks even on the pop ones, and still find hard if not impossible to get them

I agree with the user Kirna about the issue of the samples vs. your own. First of all nevermind if u go to a wurlizer softsynth or find hammond like sounds in a synth, it still be samples of wurlitzer or hammond sampled into a softsynth. It is true that u will be able to tweak the chord u r making, but basically, I would in most chances go for the sample. The only time I wont take the sample is if it doesnt fully meet my needs.

To sum it up there are many ways to make one thing and in the end of the day, as long as u havent killed or robbed anyone to make it, what counts is the final exported pre master file.           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

The chord samples chord is already defined, right? It's limiting too much, unless you always want that same minor.

exactly, finally someone can see some sence here!!

so what ive learn so far is that using a steep filter curve,in the envelope or in another plug etc, gives that more wider and deeper stab,i still havant got it sounding as good as most ive heard in tracks but slowly getting the idea,
u can gere them in so many tracks these days, and there all sound really simmilar in technique, just diferent in charecter...
someone most have a tutorial for us to get a basic idea from,i now that frequlizer has some good one's,maybe someone who no's him can ask from here?
thanx!

NikC, I understand you, but I disagree with you in that point. A lot of people uses samples from old records, TV & movies, stabs/leads/organic pads from new records etc. and make a totally different and amazing sound from these sources, e.g. Armand Van Helden, Way Out West, FatBoy Slim etc. You can be creative using samples, it depends on you (and on your tools...)
