Nobody likes getting questioned and having their luggage searched and swabbed for explosives or substances. It's just part of it.

I hope you guys don't yell "BoOm" when you're on a plane. ^^

Would you say traveling has changed alot compared to the 90s? Before 9/11, massive terror fears etc?

As an American it takes a hell of a lot longer to get back into my own country then before, and a hell of a lot longer to get through US customs than any other country I've ever flown into, and the Homeland Security video they show you on the plane seems frighteningly Orwellian to me.

<3 George Orwell.

I was in New York around christmas in 2003, it was pretty tough to get in, I had this 200kg large samoan demonish woman asking me where I was going, all the info I had was Babylon/Long Island, and my friends name. The demon stared at me for a while before she decided to stamp my passport and let me in.

shit, i'm an american and when i was returning from israel, i had a stop-over flight in new york and not only did they thoroughly search my bags, but they assigned some dude to follow me everywhere in the airport (including the bathroom...and he didn't even offer to hold it or wipe my ass or anything) for an hour until i boarded my next flight. the only "suspicious" thing about me i can think of is i had about 20 different stamps in my passport, including israel, egypt, and jordan. which in itself is not that uncommon and should't be grounds for such treatment.

they were not suspicious. They were measuring your gay-friendliness and homophobia quotient. I know this i experienced it too..they found me slightly homophobic and conducted a cavity search.           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

I just came back from the US, when I went they detained me for 5 1/2 hours, claiming that I was an illegal immigrant, and that with a Canadian residency. After 5 hours I freaked out, explained to them that Canada was much nicer than the USA anyway, alone the health insurance here in Canada (currently a hot topic in the US) is a 1000 times better and free, and numerous other reasons. They let me in after I missed my flight out of Vancouver, I had to wait 4 more hours for the next flight and the party organizer picked me up aftyer I had to wait for another 3 hours at the Airport in Sacramento. I was scheduled to play at a party in San Francisco on the 31st, but due to the fact that I had a visa waiver in my passport that was still valid they did not renew the visa so I could not stay long enough. What assholes... glad to be back home in Vancouver now and happy with my new desktop that I bought in the USA, they even waived the import tax in Canada, amazing, what a difference.

American airports are infamous for their paranoia, they definitely make your travel experience a long and painful process

yup. this goes for any arabic country (with the exception of egypt and jordan). i think the same is true in reverse as well. that is, if you have an israeli stamp in your passport, you most likely will not be able to get into syria.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance
