In case it's of interest, I found that you can still purchase Tratosphere's Bazar Bizar in CD format direct from the artist.

Just felt it was worth mentioning because it's an excellent album, but seems to be impossible to find in CD format. I know you can buy it from Amazon in MP3 format, but where is the fun in that? The price is pretty steep at 22 Euro, but I'll probably pay it since I want a legit copy on my wall of sound.

" Bazar Bizar " is a masterpiece !

I'm so happy that I bought the CD version from rubbish records back then...

I also bought the CD version of " Puls " back then which is a brilliant album as well.

I also talked with Julian a few months ago and he told me that they have a new album but they don't have a record label to release it on so I talked with Shahar from Aleph Zero and I hope that something will come out of it.

I think it was because of your post in the "I Recommend" thread that I checked them out. So, thank you for posting about them. Probably never would have discovered them otherwise. It would be excellent to see them release on AZ. Seems like it would be a good fit.

actually Star-Trooper was the one who brought the subject up on the " I want to remind u of.... " thread and I just responded since I really love their music for a few years now.

anyway, I think that one of the things that makes their music so special is that as opposed to a lot of other artists in the genre they are a three parts band that contains a very talented drummer, a very talented bassist and a very talented keyboards, synths programming man.

so they have a real live feel and a really colorful style

Tratosphere indeed are a great band, I would love to have the pleasure of catching them live. I discovered a similar sounding band the other day called Tetchi who play a mix of squelchy synths with live drums and bass etc..

have a listen, they've got a very cool sound

+1 on a new Tratosphere cd, get on it Shahar

Well, I ordered it and can't wait to actually own a copy. The cost was a bit of a pinch, and I already had a "borrowed" copy of their album in 320K. But it's all about showing support for a talented group of artists. Right?

Yeah. Posted above you can still get it direct from one of the band members. I searched for weeks before e-mailing them. Couldn't find it _anywhere_.

Good news! Julian was nice enough to share that there is indeed a third album coming up. The target date is March 2010. "Eighty minutes of space sound mixed by Umberto Echo, the German dub master from Munich.". According to his e-mail they are still looking for a label.

Nice write up. I was listening to "Orange" off MM's "Hippies with Gadgets" recently and thinking that Peak might be a good fit for the Tratosphere sound. I hope they do get signed and are able to release that next cd!
