Hello everybody, ani bseder kee ani yehudi.
I am going to Israel and have two weeks of free time on my hands before I start college there for two months. I want to know from you nice (yaffa) Israeli's if the Egged bus system is easy to use for Americans?

Now I'm American, but hopefully I will make Aliyah one day

yes, its easy.
visit http://egged.co.il/ and click on "ENG" at the upper left of the screen.           Its the vibe that matters.

yeah I know about egged.co.il, I spoke with an Israeli a few days ago who was visiting Los Angeles. I just wanted to know from Israeli's if it was a good bus system in their point of view.

I'm going to be in Jerusalem, Tsfat, and maybe Rishon Lezion. It probably won't be too hard to get around because those are popular areas, right?

You have nothing to worry about.
Getting around the cities are easy, especially because all the street/road signs are in english.
There are 2 different bus companies. "Egged" and "Dan".
"Egged" is usually for travelling between cities.
"Dan" is usually for travelling within the city.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me and I will do my best to assist you. Take care.

Well thank you for all of your input. I do speak a little bit of ivrit and I read it really well. I'm sure I will be fine.

A little off the topic but what is the general feeling in Israel regarding Iran these days?

Tip - try not using public transportation on sunday mornings as you might end up having sweaty IDF soldier underarms all over you duiring a few hours` ride. Regarding Iran, I personally think we should bomb the antisemic bastards immediately in order to avoid further threat against our beloved western technogenic civilization of self destruction.           What does not kill us - causes us irreversible damage.
