Why do artists don't make transitions between tracks in their albums?

Only my old goa albums have that, but i don't understand why... it's beautiful for the listener, just like a mix, put the cd on the player and let go...
Also it makes us think that the artist treated the album as a whole piece (of art) instead of just a compilation of his best tracks at the moment.

I guess the albums nowadays are too much oriented for the dancefloor... there is little pleasure in listening to albums like Talamasca's Zodiac at home... but great to listen at a party.

I think tracks can have that "dancefloor effect" and still be enjoyed at home, with transitions...

What's your opinion?

Yes, you are right 110% buddy. I love it too.
Space Cat's Beam me up and Hallucinogen's albums. Damn it's so much better. I guess that way the albums today are nuch Dj friendlier.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

yup. also younger brother.
if you want to listen to seperate tracks or mix them it doesn't matter to you, and when you listen in the stereo it really flows better.

The Serial Killaz compilation on Atomic Records had an excellent concept : CD 1 was compiled with unlinked tracks and CD 2 with the same tracks in a different order, and mixed.... pretty good.. by Dino Psaras.

Too much "work" on tracks linkage make the stuff unuseful for a Deejay....

.... and other side tracks only linked the 'easier way' (outro vs intro) bore me a little bit..

That's why I liked Atomic's Idea a lot.

Too much work makes it unuseful? Why is that?!

It doesn't matter. The dj's work only starts after the first beat (cue-point). Before that it's only the atmosphere of the track...

Even simple linkage (for example: MFG - The prophecy album) is better than no linkage for me.

I meant precisely when both kicks are superposed (a long 'buuuuum' with a dry 'kick' for exemple)

The way it is in a party Dj-Set

I'm sorry if my words weren't clear !

sometimes i think that the entire idea is to keep each and every track unique and atmosphere creating for itself.
but the simon p. albums surely do the trick...
ehhhhhh, i dunno...
