if this is at the location that is rumored, there is absolutely zero shade. The mojave is quite unforgiving in that sense, but after 5 summer party seasons in the sun, its an absolute must to bring your own shade.
The best part about the mojave, is that when you have shade the temperature becomes rather comfortable. There isn't any humidity out there at all.
Don't forget to bring at least one gallon of water per person per day. Temperatures can peak over 100 degrees F.
IF its the location i've heard it is, you will be in for a treat. The road into the event is rather smooth and the scenery is excellent for being in the middle of nowhere. |

sounds cool....
just want to check a few facts:
so it starts at 7pm, and goes 16 hours.
which means it shouldn't be as hot when you're arriving, and should be just getting REALLy hot again when it's over...
so, while you want to have WATER, cool clothes, shade, etc, this should be totally doable
hmmm....
let me say again... hmmmmmm

BYOS- bring your own shade!!!! i would treat it like burning man and bring all that you need to survive!
its gonna be HOT i checked the weather, low 90s during the day and 67 at nite  don't forget the sunblock! 45 should do ya.
can't wait i love the desert i love ghreg on earth i love dancing outside. wooooo hooooooo

Hey everybody, we came across some awesome private land for the party so no need to worry about regulations anymore and lots more people can come! The new location is only a few miles east of the original one, the drive will be around six hours from San Francisco and three hours from LA. The desert roads are well groomed and should be easily managable for all size of cars. Tickets will be available at the door for $15 or $10 if you have 3+ people in your car. Check www.mindfullproductions.net for set times and other details.
DIRECTIONS FROM LOS ANGELES:
Take all alternate routes to the I-5 freeway North to the 14 highway. Proceed to the town of Mojave and turn right at the light with a Fastrip gas station towards the 58 East. In 35 miles it intersects with the I-395 where you must reset your odometer and head North for 6.8 miles then turn right onto an unmarked dirt road which heads south for a couple of hundred yards before turning east again.
(*Note: if you see a blue "Call Box" you have gone too far. Turn around and head south on I-395 for about 0.2 miles. If you see overhead power lines alongside the dirt road you have also gone too far.)
Follow the dirt road for 6.8 miles. You will pass three red tires buried in the sand on your left, then a bullet ridden diamond shaped sign just before the next turn to your left. Proceed on this road for 0.8 miles, make a right then drive another 1.2 miles where an alien will direct you to the celebration…

We will have three large shade structures covering the DJ/sound area with smaller ones around the dance floor so there will be protection from the sun but definitely bring whatever else you may have to help.
Also, the directions have a small error, "make a right then drive another 1.2 miles" should be "make a LEFT then drive another 1.2 miles"
We'll post a sign at that point so no one gets lost. |
